ALL PUBLIC BUILDINGS, SUCH AS SCHOOLS, LEISURE CENTRES, LIBRARIES, HOSPITALS, POLICE FORCES AND UNIVERSITIES, MUST HAVE A DISPLAY ENERGY CERTIFICATE (DEC) AND ADVISORY REPORT (AR) BY LAW

Advisory Reports include recommendations for improving the energy performance of a building and cutting its energy use.

Buildings are rated from A to G, with A being the most efficient. Advisory Reports include recommendations for improving the energy performance of a building and cutting its energy use.

They are designed to improve public awareness and demonstrate to visitors to the building exactly how much energy it uses, so must be displayed in a public place.

They can also be held by other non-public organisations and businesses who care about their green credentials and are keen to reduce their carbon footprint.
