Cloughwood Academy

Gary Butler, one of Power Solutions energy experts, was asked to assist with Cloughwood School in June 2013 and helped them through the transition from a school to academy. This entailed arranging Change of Tenancy agreements for their 2 existing suppliers.
The process was managed with them and when they moved to an academy on the 1st September 2013, Power Solutions secured long term contracts backdated with Total GP (5 yrs. gas) and Npower (3 yrs. electricity) which helped them move away from a county council sourced utility consortium.

This helped to bring this under their own control, saved them money and also protected them from potential future energy increases.
Gary is now looking into their other supplies of water and telecommunications to see what other assistance Power Solutions can provide to their business manager, to maximise our business support services to them.

Salop Design and Engineering

Power Solutions UK helped metal pressings and assemblies business, Salop Design and Engineering, investigate and install 950 solar panels onto their Shropshire site.

Energy consultant, Colin Stephens, started working with the Shrewsbury-based firm in 2007, successfully procuring their gas and electricity contracts.

So when they asked for his advice on becoming more environmentally friendly, he was happy to see whether Solar PV could work for them.

Colin listened to the firm’s needs and carried out a full evaluation, including assessing the site location, roof orientation and current feed in tariffs.

All these, plus the firm’s existing energy consumption details were passed to Power Solutions Solar PV partner for further analysis.
They recommended the installation of a 250 kWp rooftop system and after receiving a competitive quote, Salop Design and Engineering decided to go ahead with the project.

Around 950 panels were installed within budget, on time and with little disruption to their business. The firm was able to maximise the financial incentives provided by the feed in tariff and save at least 10 per cent* on their energy costs. This has not only enabled the firm to increase its green credentials, but also helped them reduce their operating costs, increasing their edge over their competitors.

Power Solutions have helped manage 247 meters within Birkenhead Market, 3 are the landlords supply and the rest belong to the market stall holders.

Our experts negotiated with the landlord and ironed out any problems that arose with handling such a complex project with so many different tenants.

Since  Power Solutions have been involved around two and a half years ago each tenant has seen their energy bills drop by around a fifth, saving them thousands in utility costs.

Larry Embra, director of BML Ltd, said he was impressed with the work carried out by our agent, Emily Gleaves.
‘We’re very happy,’ he said. ‘Emily is a keen worker and I would have no problem recommending her to anyone. She is a great asset to your company and if she was ever to leave I would offer her a job.’

The Grove

‘We have been working with Mark at Power Solutions UK for over a year now on two contracts.

‘Each time the process has been professionally managed and saved us considerably on our electricity bills.’

Zoe Agar, Owner, The Grove, Narberth, Pembrokeshire.

A religious charity run by a group of nuns contacted Power Solutions for help to reduce their soaring utility bills.
Our experts managed to cut the gas costs of the Charity of the Congregation of Our Lady, Canonesses of St Augustine, based in Cambridge, by installing new meters into their premises.

One meter is predicted to provide a 34 per cent reduction in bills after we negotiated a deal locking the charity into fixed prices for five years. Another is estimated to give them a 10 per cent drop in gas costs, plus we also helped secure a 0.4 per cent reduction in their contract with Eon.

The nuns said they were happy with the service we provided and would be glad to recommend our services to others in the future.
